What to expect from the new Champions League format
The competition has undergone a drastic revamp, which sees the number of matches in the new format increase from 125 to 189.
It’s that time of year again, but where there is usually excitement, this time there is an aura of uncertainty hanging over the horizon as we await the debut of the Champions League’s new look.
Many are still getting their heads around the new format, prompting UEFA to flood out illustrations for the expanded 36-team super-group stage. There has even been an update to the famous theme music of the competition, which has caused a slight stir online.
