What is going on with the Spotify Camp Nou?
Barça's stadium reconstruction has been a logistical nightmare.
The reconstruction of Barcelona's iconic Spotify Camp Nou is part of a larger €1.5 billion Espai Barça project, which is aiming to completely transform the club’s facilities. The stadium works in particular are set to modernise the venue, increase its capacity to 105,000 seats, add a roof, and improve facilities, like VIP areas and sustainability features.
Work began after the club's final home game there at the end of the 2022/2023 season, temporarily moving Barça to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc, a stadium named after a former Catalan president. The project involves demolishing and rebuilding parts of the infamous Camp Nou, including the third tier of the stands, while allowing partial use during the 2025/26 season.
