Arnaut Danjuma’s stocks were soaring in 2022; the Dutchman had just finished his first season at Villarreal, a campaign that saw him amass 16 goals and 4 assists across 34 games, playing an important role in taking the Yellow Submarine to the semi-finals of the Champions League. However, this wasn’t enough to satisfy the former Bournemouth man.
He felt he still had something to prove in England, so he managed to secure two loan spells across the following two seasons, the first at Tottenham Hotspur, and the other at Everton. It was a rocky period for Danjuma, as he couldn’t replicate the same form he once enjoyed on the east coast of Spain, only scoring 3 times in 44 appearances.
