Is Luis de la Fuente at fault in Gavi blame game?
After Gavi sustained a season-ending knee injury, the fingers are being pointed at Spain boss Luis de la Fuente.
“Gavi is hyperactive, he doesn’t want to stop,” Spain boss Luis de la Fuente told the press prior to Sunday’s 3-1 win over Georgia. “You just have to see him train. That’s why he plays so much and so well. The good players never rest, that’s why they are special.”
As it proved, Gavi was forced to stop before the half-hour mark, making way after suffering what was later confirmed as an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Those clumsy comments and De la Fuente’s decision to start Gavi against Georgia have ultimately made the Spain boss public enemy number one in Barcelona. The blame game has started and De la Fuente is the loser…or the winner… depending on how we decide the victor.
