Can Barcelona bounce back from Champions League heartbreak?
Barcelona face Atletico Madrid in the Copa de la Reina final next weekend.
A week on but the hurt will still persist for Barcelona Femeni.
Their attempt to win a third successive Women’s Champions League crown was thwarted by a steely Arsenal side, who triumphed 1-0 in the final in Lisbon last Saturday.
Stina Blackstenius’ neat finish from outside the box on 75 minutes proved decisive for the Gunners, as they won only their second title and their first in 18 years.
For Pere Romeu’s side it was a frustrating afternoon as despite their dominance in possession, they failed to really create any clear-cut chances and the pain of the defeat was etched clear on many players’ faces as the tears flowed at full-time.
Their star players all picked the worst time to have a rare off day, but they must draw the line under last Saturday with a Copa de la Reina final against Atletico Madrid to come next weekend.
