Baena's stocks continue to soar
Villarreal's latest homegrown gem has many admirers in Spain and England.
Whilst not finding himself on the scoresheet as much as he’d like to this season, Villarreal’s Alejandro Baena has provided the most assists in LaLiga this season (9), catching the attention of several big clubs across Europe.
The Yellow Submarine have managed to turn their season around thanks to the return of fan-favourite manager Marcelino, and one of the protagonists of this redemption arc has been Baena, a charismatic 22-year-old Almeriense who has worked his way up through Villarreal’s immensely successful cantera.
