A great Champions League night for Real Madrid overshadowed by a shoddy pitch
Real Madrid beat Arsenal 2-0 in their Women's Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday.
Tuesday night was a great night for Real Madrid in the Women’s Champions League, but it was overshadowed by controversy.
Los Blancos are looking to progress beyond the quarter-final stage of the competition for the first time and took a huge stride towards doing so by beating Arsenal 2-0 in the first leg of their last eight tie at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano.
However, much of the talk after the game concerned the playing surface and not the impressive win, as well as posing further questions about the ill-treatment of the women’s team.
